Kavanagh Recycling and Recovery Limited was established in 2012 and is an IT Services Business specialising in IT Asset Disposal and Secure Data Destruction, we are located in a secure 1,600 m² facility in Tallaght, Dublin. We provide a full range of WEEE recycling services for a wide range of electronic and electrical equipment from computers and laptops to servers and monitors and everything in between.
The company provides value added services to its B2B clients including a full suite of IT Asset Management services including; compliant disposal, secure certified data destruction (including hard disk shredding), data centre decommissioning, IDTS (Installation, Deployment and Technical Services), and our unique BlueBin WEEE recycling service.
We also provide specialised WEEE recycling and logistics services for Ink and Toner cartridges, Photocopiers and Laboratory & Other Specialist Equipment.

We offer a nationwide IT Collection and Disposal service throughout Ireland for all your businesses electronic IT and Office Equipment
Kavanagh Recycling and Recovery specialises in comprehensive IT Asset Disposal, Computer Recycling, WEEE Recycling and Secure Data Destruction. The company, from its base in South Dublin, can provide any enterprise with a safe, secure, compliant solution for the management of all types of Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Our Data Destruction services include both shredding and a certified software process that erases all data from Server, PC and Laptop hard disk drives. This service provides a certifiable secure service for our clients while maintaining the integrity of the hard disk drive for Reuse if required.
Due to the nature of the business we will produce WEEE as a by-product of the industrial processes. For example any item found to be BER (beyond economical repair) or obsolete with no remarketing opportunity will be deemed as WEEE by us and disposed of in accordance with WEEE legislation as direction by the conditions of our waste permits.

We permanently remove data from IT assets such as PCs, servers, laptops, data centre equipment, photocopiers and smartphones. Data erased by us using “WipeDrive” from White Canyon Software cannot be recovered with any existing technology. The certified detailed report provided is proof of a successful data erasure.
This tamper-proof and verifiable reporting is an essential part of compliance, regulatory and legal auditing requirements. A comprehensive audit trail is a critical requirement for compliance with IT security standards such as ISO27001, ISO15408, PCI and FISMA.

Secure Quarantine Storage Facility:
The Equipment awaiting Data Destruction is stored in a secure quarantine area within the warehouse.
All equipment is locked in secure cages to which only the Data Destruction manager has access. He will sign out batches of 10 at a time for Data Destruction which he supervises.
Only when 10 units are returned will another 10 be released.
The returned units will have their Data Destroyed and a Certificate produced.
They are all checked against the certificate that all data is removed before the hard disk is removed for shredding.
Data Centre Decommissioning:
We provide a comprehensive Data Centre Decommissioning and Data Centre consolidation service. This process consists of us bringing tools, equipment, personnel, pallets, etc. to the data centre and carefully disconnecting and un-racking each switch and server.

This is performed by our highly skilled employees. Each piece of equipment is scanned into our inventory tracking system so that each piece can be duly accounted for. Asset Management and Asset Tracking is a key component to controlling costs and reducing risks for large enterprise customers. Each hard drive is removed and then scanned into the same system to match the host equipment. The process of matching hard drives to host equipment, means that every storage device has been fully accounted for and tracked.
On-site or Off-site wiping and or shredding of the hard drives can then be carried out after the drives were scanned and inventoried. Shredding hard drives right at the data centre eliminates all transportation risks. In this case all hard drives were shredded to 10mm and the process can be also recorded on a DVD for proof of compliance at the customer’s corporate office. After the equipment had been fully inventoried, including type, make, model and serial number, it was carefully packed for shipment to our warehouse for recycling.

BlueBin Service:
Kavanagh Recycling and Recovery can offer 660ltr recycling bins for the on-site collection of IT waste.
The bins can be used for gathering IT waste from large sites to be brought back to a central point for collection. We accept all types of IT waste including ink toner cartridges. We do not empty the bins, they are replaced and returned to our secure facility where they are emptied and processed.
If there are any data bearing items (hard drives/tapes) we can carry out certified data destruction. We will always let the customer know in advance and request authorisation prior to commencement of data destruction.
We offer two BlueBin services for IT Equipment only as follows:
Monthly Rental:
We deliver a 660 litre bin to your premises on a monthly basis. This is collected (replaced by an empty bin) and returned to our premises where it is emptied and processed. This service is subject to a monthly rental charge.

Once off Drop/Collect Service:
We deliver a 660 litre bin to your premises on a once-off ad-hoc basis. This is collected when requested within a 2 week period and returned to our premises where it is emptied and processed. This service is subject to a drop charge and a collection charge.
Photocopier Removal and Disposal:
When a photocopier or printer has served its purpose you should consider both environmental legislation and data security as part of the retirement process. Kavanagh Recycling and Recovery make photocopier and printer recycling easy. We cover the whole of Ireland using our own fleet of vehicles and drivers, collecting all manner of IT equipment with no minimum quantities.
Our photocopier and printer recycling and disposal service is eco-friendly, cost-effective and hassle-free. All photocopiers and printers are either refurbished for reuse or the components are salvaged and either remarketed or recycled. We use electric stair climbing equipment when required and do not require the photocopier to be on the ground floor.

As part of the process any printer or photocopier can also have their hard drive wiped and/or destroyed.
Ink and Toner Cartridge Recycling:
Ink and toner laser cartridges can be a nuisance to recycle, here at Kavanagh Recycling we offer the perfect solution, we can collect and recycle all makes and types of ink and toner cartridges.
We collect predominantly within the Leinster region but can collect country wide at an additional cost. Alternatively you can send your cartridges to us and for a minimal fee we will recycle them.
